Promoting waste recycling efforts in Kautachiwadi
June 2005
As in many places around the world, the non-biodegradable plastic is becoming a real issue in the villages. This one day event was intended to raise the villagers’ awareness about the long-term implications.
Containers for various types of garbage have been placed around the village, and large bags of plastic are regularly taken to a recycling center.
A full day was spent with the children in November 2004, during which the environmental problems linked to plastic were explained to them in school. As a team we then collected all the garbage around the village and placed it into the appropriate containers.
It was a fantastic day!
